This year, we welcomed Year of the Snake with vibrant festivities at Liverpool ONE and across the city.

On Saturday 25 January, a city-centre parade led by Pagoda Arts, Movema, and the Liverpool Hung Gar Kung Fu Friendship Association filled the streets with colourful costumes and stilt walkers, starting at midday on Church Street and making it’s way through Liverpool ONE! Here are some pictures from the weekend.

In the lead-up to the New Year, thousands of red lanterns adorned the streets of Liverpool, and our estate glowed red, along with iconic buildings like St George’s Hall.

A striking willow snake sculpture was placed in the water feature near the Liverpool sign on Thomas Steers Way, created by artist Sarah Gallagher from Twigtwisters, and the Liverpool sign was also decorated to mark the occasion.
