Our Social Impact focuses on Communities and the Environment

ONE Community ONE Future

Liverpool and the wider City Region is home to 1.5 million people and over 75,000 businesses. The city welcomes around 75 million visits annually, of which Liverpool ONE alone attracts over 22 million visits. We are all part of the same ecosystem. We all have a shared and equal interest in making our places safe, attractive, fair and sustainable so that we can all enjoy them – not just now, but in the future.

Our place is Liverpool ONE. It’s a place to live, to work and a place for millions to visit time and again.

Liverpool ONE Steps

To enjoy Liverpool today and tomorrow, we work hard to have a positive impact on all our communities and the environment.

We care about the way we run our business – ensuring sustainability sits at the heart of our decision making. We care about the environment and the impact we have on it. We are proud of our green spaces and putting them to good use. We care about our communities and improving the quality of life for local people.

Our Liverpool ONE Team support skills development and growth, nurturing talent and inspire future generations. People are at the absolute heart of our business, representing the most fundamental component to our sustainability.

The positive social impact we can have through our community, environmental and sustainable efforts is central to our very existence. We are committed to working collaboratively with our partners and visitors, encouraging everyone to be part of this journey as we make our region a better place for everyone.

It is part of our responsibility to ensure we protect the environment and communities for future generations to come.

Our Commitments to the Environment

We take pride in  protecting and maintaining our natural environment. We work with the community to increase awareness to encourage responsible environmental behaviour. We are committed to managing our resource consumption and work with partners to improve air quality.

Taking pride in protecting our natural environment

We work with the environment around three pillars:

Waste

Maintaining 100% zero waste to landfill and encouraging the reduction of waste generated by our tenants and visitors. We aim to continually increase recycling figures across Liverpool ONE.

Energy & Transport

Our aim is to reduce energy consumption year on year, continue to produce onsite renewable energy and facilitate green travel options into Liverpool ONE as we continue our journey to Net Zero.

Green Spaces

Working to increase the biodiversity across Liverpool ONE year on year. We work with the community to increase access to nature and encourage responsible environmental behaviour.

Our Commitments to Communities & People

Our communities are the lifeblood of the work we do at Liverpool ONE. We take a multifaceted approach in supporting and developing communities to encourage positive wellbeing, skills development and inclusivity.

Healthy communities lead to a healthy economy

We work with communities around three pillars:

Young People & Skills

Positively impacting the lives of around 30,000 young people via the Liverpool ONE Foundation working with Youth Clubs and local charities on mental health initiatives. Collaborating with schools, colleges and universities to improve skills and talent retention.

Inclusivity & Accessibility

Working with partners and community groups to make Liverpool ONE the most welcoming and accessible place for all communities and people.

Health & Wellbeing

Working with partners to improve health and wellbeing. Culture will be the vehicle to improve people’s wellbeing. Aiming to collaborate with at least 100 local artists and organisations every year.
