We are celebrating a double award win after retaining our Green Flag and being granted Green Heritage Site Accreditation for our commitment to both the environment and heritage.
Chavasse Park has retained its Green Flag Status for the 12th year running in recognition of its excellent condition and for playing host to a range of seasonal events which, this year, includes being one of the official Team GB & ParalympicsGB Fan Zones across the UK.
Green Flag, the government-backed accolade, awarded by Keep Britain Tidy, is internationally recognised and seen as “the Oscars of parks”.
And, for the first time, Liverpool ONE has been awarded the Green Heritage Site Accreditation, supported by Historic England, which recognises the commitment of Liverpool ONE enhancing and putting the spotlight on the heritage across the site for visitors to enjoy.
“Bringing communities together is at the core what we do at Liverpool ONE, we take pride in bringing our green spaces and heritage to play centre stage whether that’s through hosting sporting activities, music and entertainment, or simply taking some time out together as a family or group of friends.
“Chavasse Park is a unique green space in the middle of a vibrant, bustling city centre to do all of these things, and we’re incredibly proud to be recognised with a Green Flag for the 12th year running.
“To be awarded the Green Heritage Site Accreditation for the first time is also a huge achievement for us, as we’re incredibly committed to paying tribute to our rich history, through initiatives such as our Heritage Trail, our work in Memorial Garden and the partnership with National Museums Liverpool with The Old Dock Tour.”
