Liverpool ONE - 15 years at the heart of the city
2023 marked 15 years since Liverpool ONE opened in the heart of Liverpool.
Since 2008, the year when Liverpool was European Capital of Culture, we’ve been proud to sit within the beating heart of our wonderful city. Throughout the years, visitors have travelled from near and far to experience the best international brands, in a place so transformed that Liverpool now ranks as one of the country’s top destinations for tourists. And shopping, dining and entertainment is the backdrop to an events programme that brings our communities together year after year, from pianos in our streets to glittering Christmas trees. All of this, in a city that proudly hosted Eurovision this year, showing off our hearts to the whole world.
The aim of the Liverpool ONE development was to seamlessly blend existing streets with a brand new destination fit for a 21st century city. We’ve grown to welcome over 22m visitors every year, and thousands of people call Liverpool ONE their place of work, or even their home. And that’s including flora and fauna, too, as our city centre green space Chavasse Park continues to encourage urban biodiversity in tranquil surroundings. Creating a positive impact on our community is close to our hearts; the Liverpool ONE Foundation has to date supported almost 500,000 individuals in our city region through our aims to improve mental health in young people.
We’re continuing to work hard to deliver to Liverpool a destination like no other, and we’re excited to bring you along on our journey.
